Harrison B. Hood - Principal

Dr. Hood was born in Jackson, Mississippi, and currently resides in Athens, Georgia. He represents the third generation of his family that has worked in the forestry and forest products industry.

 

He serves as an advisor to timberland investment companies and family offices. Previous work experience includes the furniture import and export business, real estate development, and timberland management and research. Dr. Hood received a B.A. in Finance from the University of Mississippi, as well as a Masters of Forest Resources in Forest Business and a Ph.D. in Forest Economics from the University of Georgia.

 

 

Jonathan W. Smith

Mr. Smith has nearly 15 years of experience in timberland management and timber procurement, and is a Registered Forester in Georgia.  Mr. Smith also has extensive experience in forestry research, with his interests focused on southern timber market price structure and timber supply/demand.  He earned his B.S. degree in Biology at Georgia College and State University and his M.F.R. degree from the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia.

 

 

Michael D. Ransom

Michael is a Georgia registered forester and his training includes GIS spatial analysis and the use of cutting edge technology to maximize timber production as well as to facilitate multiple uses for a tract of land. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Forest Resources from the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia.

 

 

Joseph Chambers Tann - Legal Counsel

Mr. Tann was born in Flowood, Mississippi. He attended the University of Mississippi on an athletic scholarship and was a member of the 2006 SEC Championship baseball team. He graduated Summa Cum Laude.

 

He earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2010. During law school, Mr. Tann was named a Pedrick Scholar, Marshall-Brennan Fellow, and also served as President of the ASU Environmental Law Society. Mr. Tann earned a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Finance from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in 2014.
